New Patient

Your first treatment typically lasts up to 90-120 minutes and includes a thorough initial intake and evaluation. Follow up treatments typically last 45 – 90 mins.

It is recommended that you do not come to your appointment on an empty stomach.
In the first 15 minutes or so, we will go over your health history and do a thorough intake of your entire health. we will also ask about things that may not seem related to your chief complaint, such as your sleep, digestion, energy level etc. All of this information allows us to make an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, herbal supplements are often used together with acupuncture to have the best results.

Important Announcement:
Receiving Acupuncture TCM Treatment During the COVID-19 Pandemic

This is Dr. Sarah Liu, and in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic crisis, you might be thinking, “should I keep my appointment with Dr. Liu or cancel?” Or “I am having this back or neck pain that I really need to seek acupuncture treatment.” We have kept our office open for in-person appointments. Please see below for the steps we are taking to make sure everyone is protected coming to our office.

We have implemented the following safety protocol that meets and exceeds CDC guidelines

1. Our staff are symptom-free and, to the best of their knowledge, have not been exposed to the virus. My staff and I regularly check our own temperatures and body oxygen levels to ensure our own health.

2. We have been disinfecting our treatment area between each patient contact on our treatment tables and face cradles after treating every patient.

3. We disinfect highly contacted surfaces like doors, countertops, chairs, and bathroom multiple times a day

4. We have mopped our floor with EPA-registered disinfectant for use against SARS-CoV-2, and UVC light sanitize our facility daily. An active HEPA air purifier during our operation hours.

5. We schedule patients apart to minimize patient to patient contact.

6. We have been screening each patient before they set up appointments in our office with a series of health questions and recent travel history, rescheduling patients that have recently been in high-risk states and countries. At present, patients who suspect that they may have been exposed to the virus, or are showing any symptoms indicative of it, should be directed to contact their medical doctor or local public health agency first for guidance.

7. Since we are a place of public accommodation, mask/face coverings are always required in our facility for the safety of our staff, other patients, and yourself. Please don’t bring extra members to your appointment if not necessary.

8. We check the temperatures of anyone entering the office with a touchless forehead thermometer.

9. We will provide you with alcohol or hand sanitizer before bringing you to the treatment room.

10. We wash or disinfect our hands between each patient.

11. All members of our staff will be wearing masks and /or gloves for our collective safety.

12. We will offer you hand sanitizer or alcohol once again after the treatment.

It has been an unprecedented journey for each of us. We take your health very seriously and we want to make sure you feel safe and being protected when you come to our office for treatment.
